On a very cold night Los Angeles based Kenpo 5.0 instructor Associate Professor Mr. Jeff Speakman 7th Degree Black Belt paid a surprise visit to the Academy to the delight of all the students. Covering groundwork and other movement from his Kenpo 5.0 syllabus Mr. Speakman had squeezed in this visit [in fact the next day he was off to Budapest for Seminars and a big Tournament] on the back of returning from Belgium, Russia and France. 7th Degree Black Belt Jaki McVicar who is Mr. Speakman's American Kenpo Karate Systems representative in the UK says "Along with handful of fellow black belts I had spent the previous 3 days being taught some extremely effective movement. In particular the knife work was superb, very fluent and practical I am looking forward to working with it. It is always a joy to see Mr. Speakman he is so into what he is doing that he will spend hours with you just sharing his knowledge which is vast.  That is the kind of man he is, I am proud to be his student but most of all his friend".

Martin Wheeler an exponent of Russian Systema visited the Academy on the back of travelling from the USA where he resides to teach some Seminars in London. Jaki McVicar says "This was a coup for our Academy Martin is one of the top instructors in this unique system, he goes all over the world teaching Seminars. Luckily for us Martin comes from Paignton, he was one of our original outstanding Kenpo Black Belts in the UK. One of my Brown Belts Paul Jackson who was in contact with Martin fixed it all up for us for which we are very grateful. His Seminar at our Academy had the students talking for days, very different to what we do, and as our master Ed Parker used to say "to feel is to believe" I can assure you we all do!

June 2010 and Jaki is invited to teach [again] at Senior Professor Jeff Speakman's Camp in Las Vegas. Jaki says "What a great time I had meeting up with old friends and then teaching some Seminars with a bunch of very talented individuals I only wish some of my student's had been able to attend they would have thoroughly enjoyed it".
